Rozpoczyna się amerykańska odsłona tegorocznej trasy. Metallica zagra 30 koncertów - według schematu: tydzień w trasie, tydzień przerwy. Pierwsze piętnaście występów, do 18 października włącznie, u boku Metalliki zagrają Lamb of God i francuska Gojira. Na dalszych piętnastu koncertach Gojirę zastąpi duński Volbeat, przy czym na ostatnich pięciu występach (grudniowych) zabraknie Lamb of God - w ich miejscu pojawi się Machine Head. O tym, o muzycy z tych zespołów mówią o Metallice możecie przeczytać
tutaj.
Dodatkiem do tej trasy będą dwa koncerty - pierwszy miał miejsce w ubiegły piątek - był to występ na Marin History Museum Benefit Show (video poniżej) drugi to występ na 25-leciu Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame - 30 października w Nowym Jorku.






Zanim jednak zacznie się koncert zamieszczamy kilka słów od Kirka z ostatniego koncertu w Europie, z festiwalu Sonisphere, które najlepiej oddają emocje, jakie Metallica wywołuje na koncertach:

Dziś pierwszy regularny koncert tej trasy - czy cokolwiek zmieni się w setliście w porównaniu do koncertów w Europie?

To czego można się było spodziewać to wystartowanie z setlistą bez większych zmian... ale tylko do czasu bisów, kiedy to na scenie pojawił się, wywołany przez fanów i Jamesa, Lemmy Kilmister z Motorhead. Lemmy wspólnie z Metalliką zaśpiewał Damage Case (po raz trzeci na żywo zagrała ten utwór Metallica, wcześniej w 2006 i 1995 roku), oraz Too Late Too Late (po raz piąty na żywo, czwarty raz w tym roku, wcześniej w 1995). Warto dodać, że ekipa Kilmistera zarejestrowała oba kawałki na potrzeby DVD.

Metallica is mighty grateful to be alive, and here celebrating life with loud, heavy music" - tymi słowami rozpoczął, a tymi zakończył - "We want you leaving here with a sore throat, but you're gonna leave here with a big smile on your face" James wczorajszy koncert. Lars dopowiedział: "You know what? From the (expletive) Basement over at Grimey's to the fields of Bonnaroo, to the (expletive) enormo-dome here, or whatever this place is called... three great shows in Nashville in 14 (expletive) months. You know what? Metallica (expletive) loves Nashville." Jak będzie dzisiaj?

Warto również dodać, że na wczorajszym koncercie James osobiście pomógł dwóm małym chłopcom przedostać się poza barierki.
W setliście bez większych niespodzianek, po raz ósmy na żywo w tym roku The Unforgiven i Whiplash.


James: "Cincinnati, do you want heavy? Metallica gives you heavy!"
Lars: "Maybe Metallica should come to Cincinnati more than every five (darn) years."

Montreal najgłośniejszym miastem Północnej Ameryki - ogłosił dziś Lars. W setliście bez większych niespodzianek, za to jak zawsze bardzo solidny zestaw - do setu powrócił The Judas Kiss i My Apocalypse. Po raz czwarty w tym roku mogliśmy usłyszeć Blitzkrieg.

Przed nami tydzień przerwy, Metallica wróci na trasę 28 września koncertem w San Antonio.
